Many Thanks Please be aware that the Ydalir Vikings will be staging test launches onto the Mere on the 17th & 18th April in preparation for the Marbury Merry Days. Fishing will more than likely be interrupted on these days. The Mere will now be closed on the 18th April 2010 for a working Party Please note that Rossmere will be closed to members on Sunday 28th March 2010 for a re-arranged Christmas Match Rescheduled from January due to popular demand…. Not sure who from!! The Grumpy old men are back in the saddle on Thursday the 6th May 2010. The Grayling competition has now been rescheduled for Sunday 7th March. Venue remains the same – R.Dee, Erbistock. A few of the original entrants are unable to make the new date so there are spaces available. Entrance fee is £3 [payable on the day] and the winner will receive a trophy and also a Sonik SK Lite reel rrp £79.99 As a result of the competition, the water will be closed on this day. Likely to be in place for the next 2 weeks? Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Prince Albert will be holding a Junior day at Cound fishery on Saturday 13th March 2010, fishing starts at 10am. Fishing will be for Rainbow trout by any method. You will be able to take a rainbow trout but all brown trout are to be returned as they will be out of season. Karl the even organiser can provide a dozen fly outfits with safety glasses, nets, flies etc but if the students elect to use other methods they will need to bring their own kit. Mums and Dads are welcome but it is only the Juniors who will be allowed to fish. Remember it is always a good idea to bring warm waterproof clothing and wellies as well as a packed lunch. Click here to email me Just to announce that PAAS have taken on the water known as Cound Trout Fishery. We will however operate it largely as a coarse water with any method trout fishing allowed (brown trout to be returned). Its been a trout fishery for 15-20 years but around that time the EA put the coarse fish from a local lake in there as part of a fish rescue. These havent been fished for for 20 years. Known to hold carp tench roach rudd and perch and maybe other species. Its a former quarry 26 acres spring fed crystal clear and 50ft deep. LUNE BYELAWS Byelaw 1 (i) This byelaw applies to the River Lune and its tributaries. (ii) A person fishing by rod and line is not permitted to catch and kill more than four salmon during the period starting on 16 June and ending on 31 October. (iii) Any person who has caught and killed the maximum number of salmon permitted under article 2 may continue to fish for salmon but any further salmon caught must be released immediately to the water from which they were caught with the least possible injury. (iiii) This byelaw expires 10 years after the date of confirmation. (Confirmed 26th November 2009. Date of expiry 26th November 2019) |
