Consultation on new Severn Canoe Trail on-line guide

Shropshire Wildlife Trust have been successful in securing funding from Sport England to put together a new and updated on-line guide for canoeist on the River Severn. The aim of the project is to provide (by Easter 2020) web based accurate information to local people and visitors to the Shropshire stretch of the River Severn so they can safely and responsibly explore possibly the best bit of the Severn by canoe, row boat, paddleboard, coracle or paddle powered pedalo. The Sport England Funding will also help to fund a new website to host a canoe trail guide, improvements to a number of the current access points and cover the cost of the installation of welcome boards at key locations along the river including: : Llandrinio, Royal Hill, Montford Bridge, Frankwell, Shrewsbury Weir, Ironbridge, Bridgnorth, Hampton Loade and Arley.

The Society will be represented at a partnership meeting scheduled for Thursday 21st November in Shrewsbury and we would welcome the involvement of any interested local members. Please contact the secretary Andy Strickland (details in your card) for further information or comment.

Two attachments are included:
The first being a draft document for consultation.
The second is a draft of the collaborative agreement.
