NEW WATER – New Trout Lake, Henbury Estate

Dear All

We are happy to announce that we have obtained the rights to fish Henbury Estate Lake from 1st July 2015.

General Information
Henbury Estate Lake is one of several estate lakes, about 4 acres in extent, lying off School Lane . It has been lightly fished for trout for some years. There is a substantial island and shallow area to the East end of the lake making the fishable areas at the westerly end. The lake is in full view of the hall. The deepest area is at the outflow end where depths to 10 feet can be found. The catch return box is beside the metal roadside access gate.

Known Species
The Pool is stocked with Brown, Rainbow Trout and Blue Trout.

Special Conditions
This is Fly Only and Barbless or De-barbed-Hook Water. Local Rules and Catch Limits vary from season to season. Members must consult any notices which are posted by the Catch Return box (which must also be obeyed). Wading is not allowed so please stay on the banks.
Fishing is from dawn to dusk all year round.

Access and Parking
Henbury Estate is close to Macclesfield. From Macclesfield take A537, the Knutsford road, and at Henbury (immediately before the Blacksmiths Arms) turn left onto School Lane. Pass Home Farm and a track on the right (no access along this track). The road bends slightly to the right and shortly after, there is a parking area adjacent to a metal field gate on the right hand side. Park here (a maximum of 6 cars allowed at any one time) and go through the metal field gate. Do not block vehicle access (including farm equipment) through this gate. If 6 cars are parked in or near the parking area then please do not stop.
Access to the lake is via two routes. Follow the hedge on your right hand side until it ends. At this point either bear right and walk directly to the lake in front of you or turn sharp right and walk past a stand of silver birch trees to a wooden farm gate. Go through this gate, over a bridge and through the next gate (closing all gates), turn left back to the lake.

A map can be downloaded from the members forum or by contacting the Club Sec or Membership Sec who in turn can email it over.

Note, you must carry the map when visiting this water and the water is only available for working party ticket holders for the first 12 months
